Still, I miss blogging, but sometimes wish I could just post a picture that speaks for itself. So this will be a collection of simple things that I enjoy. Not because I need anyone to know what my favorite things are; just to remind myself of some of life's simple pleasures that are the best. Little blessings in disguise.MyKidsMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08829690651886059542noreply@blogger.comBlogger3125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-638350565524834071.post-44851664388380113562011-08-05T03:52:00.000-07:002011-08-05T04:16:07.266-07:00Dark Chocolate<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2nPsJof23_TcrEIALd_VAjNhrMFsrn_j6PpG2ZEHqIhAqgarUAFv6hq9_KzKCXC-LW1c5fr15nn_JuMEZZf7yaT6xGGIiDb3KSNt4NBW7UTzNjUh6R7yGM-bpE9dTQU12wGsNY5FmrIhn/s1600/black-and-green.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2nPsJof23_TcrEIALd_VAjNhrMFsrn_j6PpG2ZEHqIhAqgarUAFv6hq9_KzKCXC-LW1c5fr15nn_JuMEZZf7yaT6xGGIiDb3KSNt4NBW7UTzNjUh6R7yGM-bpE9dTQU12wGsNY5FmrIhn/s320/black-and-green.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5637324584363646322" border="0" /></a><br />What's <span style="font-style: italic;">not</span> to love you ask? Well, when I was just a little thing (which will take us quite a ways back) I wondered <span style="font-style: italic;">why in the world </span>adults would eat the slightly-bitter so-called chocolate also know as "dark"...hard to believe isn't it?<br /><br />It would seem that my taste buds finally caught up with the fact that the dark stuff is definitely a step above the rest. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the regular run-of-the-mill variety leaves me with an almost chalky taste in my mouth.<br /><br />I recently volunteered some hours at a food bank. On their worker's table (from which you may choose an item after working at least the allotted 2 hours) I spied a box of Green & Black's organic chocolate. I think it's safe to say that <span style="font-style: italic;">I almost tripped trying to get to the box fast enough </span>(only a slight exaggeration)<span style="font-style: italic;">. </span><br /><br />It turned out to be a box of 10 bars of baking chocolate..which retails for approximately $60 on Amazon. I must say, I'm quite the fan now.<br /><br />But maybe that was part of their plan all along? Hmm..something to think about.MyKidsMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08829690651886059542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-638350565524834071.post-63761563976020878572010-05-24T02:20:00.000-07:002010-06-25T22:52:11.261-07:00Perry Mason<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtL4IaV8RkCI3Ii3gHAgxL0_2eQOuBE2y_TVQyBG8rgC6wuRcznzrQdOIkl3KiQEASTZ66QvEGunnpyuv7S7Xx5fMbx1PflpGuPodOn3sEKKF7stR28y_gDHnceTOjIE_xzfITpyxRQWZ_/s1600/perry-mason_article.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 194px; height: 190px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtL4IaV8RkCI3Ii3gHAgxL0_2eQOuBE2y_TVQyBG8rgC6wuRcznzrQdOIkl3KiQEASTZ66QvEGunnpyuv7S7Xx5fMbx1PflpGuPodOn3sEKKF7stR28y_gDHnceTOjIE_xzfITpyxRQWZ_/s400/perry-mason_article.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474766622833223458" border="0" /></a><br />I admit that not having broadcast television in the house for the last four years has put me <span style="font-style: italic;">out-of-the-loop </span>as far as what's what in available viewing. But I was a Perry Mason fan well before that. And yes, I'll even admit that I at one time (<span style="font-style: italic;">not now of course.</span>.) had a slight crush on the world's greatest (and perhaps most famous) defense attorney.<br /><br />If you just can't stand Perry (as you can see we're on quite friendly terms) then I simply say to you: <span style="font-style: italic;">well, I really don't know what to say.</span> To each their own I guess.<br /><br />Of special note: Perry Mason re-runs have been broadcast on KPTV (Portland) for the last 43 years straight. There are young, as well as old, who take the time each day to tune in.<br /><br /><span>So see</span><span style="font-style: italic;">... it's not just me. </span>Though I can't tune in due to the lack of television. Thank goodness for my local library. It definitely beats reality t.v.MyKidsMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08829690651886059542noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-638350565524834071.post-84777648428960934572010-05-24T00:01:00.001-07:002010-05-24T02:43:34.617-07:00Bigelow plantation mint Tea<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG_Q6rQIxF3fLYwX_EyIReAiUBpOQ3-wbcVEeXdyE71QvQx4MO_GDe6Hy54gHmLqRUzTNk9E3-1qZfCu-6RL4NLGiOzLrsAUH6_yCiyU_W54i4Mtvumw5Q1ZsdJ-iCPEmhAvDuUaPoi8aK/s1600/tea.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 179px; height: 163px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG_Q6rQIxF3fLYwX_EyIReAiUBpOQ3-wbcVEeXdyE71QvQx4MO_GDe6Hy54gHmLqRUzTNk9E3-1qZfCu-6RL4NLGiOzLrsAUH6_yCiyU_W54i4Mtvumw5Q1ZsdJ-iCPEmhAvDuUaPoi8aK/s400/tea.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474742799062972626" border="0" /></a><br />Much cheaper than a <em>cappuccino</em>... and it tastes better too. Just my opinion of course. I admit sometimes I feel like the odd-man-out for not being a coffee drinker; but I've decided I can't even fake liking the stuff. Not even with all those syrups, creamers, ect. that you can add to it. But a hot cup of tea (or a cold cup for that matter) is pure heaven. Which I suppose is how all those fans of Starbucks out there feel about their <em></em>cappuccinos?<br /><br />I'm wondering if I'll get any freebies from Bigelow for this little advertisement? Most likely not, since they probably know I'll keep buying it regardless. At $3 a box, it really<span style="font-style: italic;"> is</span> one of life's cheaper luxuries.MyKidsMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08829690651886059542noreply@blogger.com3
